Busted In Acadiana

On Wednesday 2/8/12, Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow conducted a traffic stop on Joshua Carriere of 104 Pine Loop Lawtell Louisiana after Carriere was observed by the Chief going around vehicles while disregarding stop signs at the intersection of Prudhomme and Viking. Chief Gallow attempted to pull the suspect vehicle over when he observed the driver traveling into oncoming traffic forcing cars off the roadway. Due to traffic congestion officers along with the Chief were able to get the vehicle stopped on Main St. Officers had to force Carriere to the ground in order to get him into custody. Once Carriere was brought under control it was discovered that he was under the influence of alcohol. Carriere was taken into custody and booked into the Opelousas City Jail on charges of Reckless Operation of a vehicle, no proof of insurance and driving while Intoxicated.
