Busted In Acadiana

A Houston man is in jail tonight after being on the run since June of 2011. Little John Cuba Jr. was returned to the city of Opelousas Wednesday on charges of Armed Robbery. Back in June of 2011 Cuba Jr. entered the Citi Trends department store in Opelousas La. , pulled out a handgun and demanded the cashier give him all the money in the register. When the cashier stated she couldn’t open the register, Cuba jr. attempted to open it himself. Once Cuba jr. couldn’t open the register, he demanded the cashier open the safe. The cashier stated she didn’t have access to the safe. Cuba jr. then demanded she hand over her purse. When the cashier told him she didn’t carry a purse Cuba jr. left the store on foot. The officers searched the area but was unable to locate the suspect. Cuba Jr. was identified on the stores surveillance tape and a warrant was placed in the National computer for his arrest. Little John Cuba Jr. was captured in Houston Texas and held at Harris County Sheriff Office. Little John Cuba Jr. was brought back to Opelousas and appeared Wednesday morning before a St. Landry Parish Judge , where he was given no bond. Cuba Jr. tonight is in the Opelousas city jail. If convicted Cuba Jr. Could face up to 99 years in prison.
